This group of galaxies is also known as the Pisces Galaxy Trio and is located at distance of about 100 million light-years. NGC 467 and NGC 474 are prominent examples of shell galaxies, with complex shell-like structures created by gravitational interactions with neighboring galaxies.

Equipment: Meade 14" LX200R/STL-11000M/Astrodon LRGB filters/Paramount ME
F-ratio: f/9.5
Exposures: LRGB: L 20 x 20 minutes, binned 2x2: R 12 x 10 minutes: G 12 x 10 minutes: B 12 x 10 minutes: RGB binned 3x3
Date: October 21 and 22, 2011
Location: Landers, California, USA
Technical Notes: I
ndividual exposures were obtained using CCDAutoPilot2 and then sigma combined. The RGB image was created in Registar 1.0. A high-pass filter of 4 pixels was selectively applied to the luminance image. Gaussian Blur and Reduce Noise were applied to the RGB image and to the dim portions of the luminance image.
