On the night of September 2-3, 2011 Comet C/2009 P1 Garradd passed near the cluster. Equipment: Nikkor 300mm/4 lens/ST-8300C/Paramount MEF-ratio: f/5.6 Exposure: 20 minutes Date: September 3, 2011 Location: Landers, California, USA Technical Notes: Reduce Noise amd Gaussian Blur were applied to the dim portions of the image. The RGB image was duplicated to create a luminance layer. Another copy of the RGB image was combined with the original using Soft Light to increase color saturation. |
